My New Love…of Fear?
Speaking! Yes… I’ve done it for a while and have been scared every time. I can honestly say I’ve pretty much almost pissed my pants on a couple of them.
One thing that I love to do is conquer my fears. It’s something that is ingrained into my brain. Scared of heights, I’ll go jump out of a plain. Scared of snakes, I went and bought one. Scared of speaking, I throw myself in front of crowds. Scared of singing in public, I jump on stage at a concert while the singer is throwing up in the bathroom and I freestyle with the band (nothing better than moving a crowd with made up lyrics… lol) The times in my life I seem to have the most fun is when I’m conquering my fears.
Fear drives more people than any other emotion. Most people will run away from something because of fear. Unfortunately, about 80% of people are driven by fear. I have trained myself early on, fear can drive me but I reverse the force against itself, like kung-fu! I use the power of fear to drive me rather than being driven by fear. It’s an exhilarating experience. The only fear I have yet to overcome is the fear of failure.
To use this fear to my advantage, I use the energy to drive me in the direction I want to go rather than what I’m moving away from.
Keepin it short… Just remember that your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions and your actions become your habit.
“Failure is the fertilizer that grows character. Strong character breeds success”
Choice is yours, what you are willing to be afraid of.
